My 2019 Atlas SE V6 manual indicates the first oil change at 1 year or 10,000 miles yet at 9 months and 5,200 miles my "change oil" reminder says it is 20 days over due. When should the oil be changed and what type of oil? Regular, synthetic blend, or full synthetic?

Love the car. Would love fewer issues.

VW says every 10000 miles, but I have the same engine you have and have decided to have it changed every 5000 miles. Also, I have the dealer do it. They charge $109.00, but if you use OE parts and the proper VW European Full Synthetic oil, by the time you buy everything you need to do a proper change, (Oil $8.95 a quart - 6 quarts needed plus filter and crush washer, I am estimating $20 to $25, plus tax etc) it does not make sense for me to crawl around on the ground to DIY it. Whichever you decide, make sure to use VW Euro Synthetic, or equivalent oil. There is a difference…by the way I did changes every 10000 mile up to 60000 on the car, then went to 5000. I recommend no more than 6000 between changes.
