That does not sit well with VW customers nor I. Thought VW is to update navigation or at least if we have to pay for updates put it on line like my 2024 Kia . There all one has to do is log in and transfer it to a flash drive and Wa La .. updated.
 
Since I upgraded to the iPhone 15 Pro Max (Verizon) with iOS 18.1 (yeah, I'm on the beta), I have had zero problems with navigation. Previously, with my iPhone 14 Pro Max plus iOS 17, I had occasional problems where the nav system had me miles away from my actual position. I'm not saying that this is THE fix, but it's working for me.
 
The car nav has only lost my actual location a few times. I will assume the speed signs went away but I didn’t notice. Mostly it provides poor routing, or it will try to re-route onto non-existent cross streets. I remember the first time that happened. The car gave a different route than my wife’s iPhone but I decided it was a viable option. Then it tried to re-route onto a right turn that didn’t exist, and passing that did the same thing three more times. I finally turned right on a street I knew to be correct. Not long after that the location icon started veering randomly amd at times parts of the map disappeared as if we were in uncharted territory. Meanwhile iMaps continued to function normally. (I did not use iMaps thru CarPlay that trip)
I use waze maybe I am not having the issue you all are having because of that
 
My 2021.5 SEL VW navigation is garbage! Innacurate and flawed if not dangerous.
I have Wifi and use Waze or Google maps occasionally. am looking at a new 2025 SEL, and it it remains the same, I'll buy another vehicle. In adtion, the interface to the iPhone also is defective requiring it to be reset too often.
 
Our issue is with a 2024 Atlas SEL-R purchased in May. The Navigation and Dynamic Road Display began malfunctioning a few weeks later with a notice that "No data is available in this area." Took it to the dealer who claimed it was a Verizon Cell Tower issue which would be fixed by August.

We had it looked at again in July and were told the same story.

It's now September and the dealer is sayin we need to talk to Verizon to fix the issue. Huh?

Any chance that the issue is Verizon is switching all of its towers to 5G and maybe the Volkswagon parts do not support 5G?
 
I have a problem with navigation. My location is not determined correctly, the route is constantly being reroute. vw atlas cs 2020 sel premium. This happens with regular navigation and with Google / Apple maps when connected via wire. The problem is 100% with the car. Took it to the dealer (Washington). They said it was a big problem and VW didn't know how to fix it. I'll call customer care. does anyone have the same problem?
I have the same issue as you do. I thought I was the only one with this issue at my local VW dealership. It’s extremely frustrating not having the car GPS nor any of my GPS apps work correctly using the corded mirror link. I’ve taken my car to the dealership on four occasions, had multiple updates, had a module replaced, and now being told that it’s an issue with Verizon. Was also told this is the reason why my Car Net app doesn't work. Does your app work?
 
Had anyone had this navigation issue recently with CarPlay showing the wrong location and saying rerouting all the time on Apple Maps? I have a 2020 atlas cross sport and it just recently started having issues just like the posts on this thread. Did anyone ever find a fix?
Same issue and it my issue hasn’t been fixed. Was told it was a problem with Verizon.
 
Verizon was supposed to be fixed by the end of August, that did not happen. Can’t believe it is a Verizon problem. Just another VW excuse.
I understand your frustration, but it does seem like Verizon's changes solved the problem in some parts of the country. I have had zero issues with location in two of my VW cars in recent weeks, and I used to experience many such issues. I am in the San Francisco Bay Area. Verizon might be slower to update in your neck of the woods.
