Did you notice any symptoms leading up the compressor failing? like any hissing sounds sounds from the vents or whirring sounds from the engine bay?

 

Nope, both times was working fine. No noises got out, came back to my car a short time later, and it was blowing hot air.

 

Did they replace the dryer & condenser as well as flush the entire system? If they don't, this will become a repeating nightmare.

 

I don't know. They told me the compressor clutch failed again. So don't know about the dryer or condenser. I know they have to drain all the r1234yf to work on it so essentially a flush. I an not sure if the paperwork will say in detail what was done and since it was about a month ago sot sure what anyone will remember

The early indicator end of compressor failure was a constant whirring/ticking sound; like a mechanical toy. At idle and through low speeds the sound matched the engine RPM's. This happened for a few months until one Saturday while driving I heard a "phiff" sound. At that moment cooling ended. Thankfully, the failed compressor, associated cooling parts and system flush was performed under warranty.

 

Sorry, is this for the 2.0L or the 6 cylinder?
