Good evening, and welcome.

I currently drive a 2020 Ford Escape 2.0 AWD and am considering upgrading to a 2024 Atlas 4Motion for a more comfortable driving experience. I'm particularly interested in the SE w/ Tech Package 4Motion (SE/T-4).
My local dealership has made an enticing offer for a fully-loaded 2024 SEL Premium R-Line (SEL-P-R), priced at $58K. While this is above the MSRP, I understand the premium due to my overseas location, where our options are limited to what is directly imported from the factory. This is a common scenario for military and diplomatic personnel stationed abroad.
Given the significant price difference between the SEL-P-R and the SE/T-4, I have a few questions:
  1. Is the Harman Kardon audio system in the SEL-P-R significantly better than the standard audio in the SE/T-4? While I'm not an audiophile, I do appreciate quality sound and don't want anything subpar.
  2. Does the SEL-P-R offer a quieter ride compared to the SE/T-4?
  3. What are the pros and cons of the leatherette seats in the SE/T-4?
  4. Is the resolution of the Area View camera in the SEL-P-R the same as in the SE/T-4?
  5. Finally, is there a noticeable difference in handling between the Cross Sport and the regular Atlas models?

Asking here because I am leaning towards Cross Sport.

As a new owner of a 2024 Atlas CS SEL Premium R-Line, I can only give you input on this model. Even though your price is higher than the deal I received here in the States, and I came from a ten-year-old BMW X5. I'm real impressed with all the tech and quality of fit and finish this vehicle has. The leather seats are really nice, having heat and air. They make the different seasons a lot more comfortable when driving. The HK stereo is definitely nice, and I would think it's a big difference. The SEL P-R-Line gives you so much more that you will enjoy the vehicle more. Go on VW.com and do a comparison between the two and see the difference. I'm glad I went with the top line. Best of luck!

  2. Does the SEL-P-R offer a quieter ride compared to the SE/T-4? (No difference)
  3. What are the pros and cons of the leatherette seats in the SE/T-4?(The leaterette seats are a bit firm in my opinion)
  4. Is the resolution of the Area View camera in the SEL-P-R the same as in the SE/T-4?(same resolution)

I have a 21.5 Atlas SEL Premium R-Line and a 24' Cross Sport SEL Premium R-Line. My Atlas has captains chairs and a third row. I don't believe you can get captains chairs in the CS nor can you get a third row. If you want a third row then get the Atlas. The CS is sportier. I'd say it handles better because its lighter and its peppier. Besides this they ride just about the same.

The ride will be based more on your tires.
The crossport will handle a dash more aggresively because it is smaller and a little lighter i believe. A fam member has a 2024 atlas se with tech 4 motion and its pretty dope. Overall the ride is great, it handles well. 2.0T is a great engine, you can slap a JB4 prgrammer on it and jolt 30 to 40hp by simply plugging it into a few sensors in the engine. And just as easier unplug it later on. If that is something you are into. Cheers!

The 2024 2.0 L is a great motor. 269HP. It is like the older 2.0l that had a tune on it. The other great thing is regular gas. The 2024 uses regular, unlike my former 2016 Tiguan which required 91 Octane. I am actually getting 1 mpg more on mixed driving with the Atlas than I did with the Tiguan. Considering the ACS is about 600 Lbs heavier, has more HP then the Tiguan, I found that excellent. I really like the ACS. It handles well, rides nicely, and adequate power.
