I was replacing wiper blades had the arms up, and I didn’t realize the wipers were in intermittent mode, passenger side arm came down and cracked the windshield. Lesson learned for getting in a hurry, I made an appointment at Safelite doing some research it sounds like they use OEM windshields it’s a 21 Cross Sport SE/w Tech, with the cracked windshield the ACC is on the fritz, that’s expected, I do have the auto dimming rearview mirror dealer installed, has anyone else had experience with Safelite? I’m going to contact my local dealer first just to get their opinion as theirs another local glass installer in my area that’s highly rated, I don’t know if my local dealer does glass, probably not, anyway I’ll post my experience with all of this soon. It’s a pretty large crack so I don’t think it’s repairable, if it was repairable that would be no cost, a replacement is your deductible cost if you ever end up replacing now you know. Any experience with this I’d appreciate comments.

I had my 2018 SEL-P windshield replaced a couple months ago at Safelite. In my case, a small stone hit the passenger side windshield edge and eventually propagated into a long crack.

My insurance company has a claim procedure that links to Safelite so I had no choice. They used an aftermarket windshield but it seems as good as the original one. They also calibrated the lane steering and that works fine too. Whole thing took about 3 hours. No evidence of leaks or any poor workmanship.

If yours and mine broke so easily, maybe the OEMs aren't any better.

Overall, a good experience with Safelite.

I don't care for them. I it's been my experience that they don't use OEM glass. Anyway, just replaced my Atlas Cross Sport windshield as it is Dealer Item and yes, the windshield was back ordered for 2 months at the low low price of $1100. plus $300 to reprogram. Insurance paid the bill.

Had my 2019 Atlas windshield replaced by Safelite. They reset the cruise sensor as part of the replacement which the dealer tried to charge me about $200. I've used Safelite for the last three windshields and will use them again should I need to.

I have had 2 windshields replaced by Safelite. Very pleased with both. They went out of their way to help me and the work was well done.

I just wanted to update on the windshield replacement I had done, I chose to order an OEM windshield from my local dealer, the local glass installer they use is the best in my area so it was an easy decision. Nothing against Safelight but they use their own brand, I wanted OEM the price difference was negligible about $30.00 my ACC stopped working before replacement but they didn’t need to reprogram anything, everything works as it should now, I appreciate everyones input.
