I have a 24 ACS SEL Premium R Line and am having the same problem with the NAV. I took it to the dealer and they replaced the Carnet Module because of another issue (apparently because of where the carnet module is placed, it overheats). They said they saw the problem with the NAV and called VW to open a ticket. VW allegedly told them that it is a known issue and that the cellular network (mostly Verizon) that is used for NAV received updates and the cars are having problems because of this update. They also said no fix in sight.

Is anyone still having issues? I just bought a 2024 Cross Sport and have no navigation, no SOS, road sign displays etc.. my VW dealership is still saying Verizion. It is kinda pissing me off because even when I use my phone, I can't use the navigation because it puts me in the middle of nowhere even on my phone!!!!
I got the Verizon excuse too. Any chance you're from PA?

The last time my phone updated the problem seemed to resolve itself. Even though I had done that previously and that never fixed it. I have another update that I’ve been putting off because it is currently working. It’s pretty frustrating especially when you use ApplePlay/Maps a lot. I live in AZ. Also not sure if it matters but I have an iPhone 12pro.

The Nav in my 2024 R Line is completely unreliable. It tries to divert me off of paved thoroughfares onto gravel and dirt secondary roads. The moving map has correct street names while the voice guidance calls them something else. I use my phone via CarPlay when I need any Nav guidance.

So you're experiencing the same issue in a 2024 model? I ask b/c I've had issues with my 21 and they're trying to sell me a 2025...am I literally going to still have the same issue??
They finally fixed it. It was the module after all. They kept telling me no it wasn't that etc... but after "diagnosing" it, they came out and said module!

It totally wasn't the cellular network it was the module. Does your SOS work? I would have the check again!!

Agh , I Have the same veh you have and have no issues with Navigation . Mines right on .
I have the same model/year 2020 Atlas SE, the Navigation using A13 Android works fine, could change the N/S Icon to have North face up. However the Compass in the display behind the steering wheel is wrong, upside down. Don't see any options to fix it. So far the only solution is to change the display to show the speedometer large digital display to monitor my driving speed. I suspect the last owner did the same thing since you have the map on the entertainment display.
Finally found the software rev's of the car on the entertainment system, where the software revisions are not listed anywhere on VW web site. May just try to download the latest version and see if that fixes it.

Update. Contacted the dealer - this is a nationwide problem. They know about it, but they can't fix it. Because they don't know what to fix. The customer care service confirmed the information. Nothing good.
My 2020 VW Atlas navigation from Google maps, Android A13 works fine. On the bottom left margin is the compass direction indicator that you can change, have North face up. However the compass behind the steering wheel didn't change, still wrong. Since it is displaying and changes you know the compass is reading but there is a code error unless the compass sensor to the bus has two wires swapped. Vehicle selection, scroll down to see all the software and who wrote each application. Tells you to go to the dealer to use "SSL Tool box" to change the code. There has to be a code error for the compass if not in the wiring.

Same problem here. I'm in Minnesota and the nav thinks I'm in the middle of Idaho! I'm waiting for the currently backordered CarNet module, over 2 months now. Called Customer Care and they have no ETA on the module. I chatted with my dealer parts guy recently and he says a good portion of those modules are sourced from Ukraine. Uff Da! We may never see those parts. Thanks, Putin.
I've had mine 2 days, days days to learn everything about this car! Finally scrolled down in vehicle to see reset and software upload. I don't know what CarNet is. I saw the three options to use Android, I something and another option. Since i have the A13 and A15 Cell if just used google map to navigate, worked fine. Compass wrong behind the steering wheel, so changed the display to show the speedometer instead which is far more useful.

IDK if all years or models are OTA capable for updates but my 21.5 is. I have only gotten I software update notice since owning the car which was not long after I bought it. The download went well as did the install, but it did take a while.

My NAV however is from my iPhone MAP APP the car uses.

IIRC VW offered their NAV as a different "Technology" package which I did not get. I remember the sales guy saying at the time you don't want the Car Net version. I never activated the Car Net help feature as I did not want to pay for that subscription and IIRC it went dead when 5G came out anyway.
Yes it takes long it says on the entertainment system, vehicle, scroll down to reset or upload and it says on the display that it takes a half an hour.

I have posted this many times but i think it gets lost. My Nav was having same issue and i could not figure it out. Eventually after a few months the usb for car play in the front broke so i had to replay. I did it myself and it was less than 100 dollars.

To my surprise it also fixed this issue.

I am an engineer for a mobile phone manufacturer and it was so frustrating. Not sure if anyone else have used this method but it has worked nearly a year not ...no problems with it being a mile further away

I have had this issue on my 2020 Atlas Cross Sport SEL R line

I was having the issue with me driving in the sound or over mountains according to the maps on my car and also on my phone when it was plugged in to the car. Recently the usb plugs in front have been broken physically, it seems it had been coming forr awhile. I purchased a replacement USB hub and installed. BOOM ... both my phone and my car navigation work with no issues. I would have never replaced the usb but it had become unusable for even charging.

The interesting thing is i used to have to unplug my phone from car in order to get maps to work right...

Anyhow this seems to be the root cause. The usb plugs in front cubby need to be replace. 140 dollars and i put it in myself
