Well our Atlas is in the shop again for this warning light. Warning light says, "Trans. in emergency mode. You can continue to drive." Ordered a new part and going to replace the entire shift mechanism to try to fix the light!! They have been trying to figure the light out by process of elimination/guessing for the last 2 months! Love the Atlas, annoyed with be the issue. Anybody out there have this issue????? 2018 4 motion launch edition with 20K.
My wife and I just acquired a New 2021.5 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport R 3.6. We're already experiencing gearbox problems with it. It has been necessary for me to take the car in for servicing three times so far in my six-month ownership of the vehicle. Although the SOS transmitter was not functioning when we acquired the car with only six miles, it is now producing a very unpleasant squeaking noise. The brakes have already begun to grind and generate noise, and currently, we are experiencing this gearbox problem. It seems to me that if Volkswagen had been experiencing the issue in 2018, according to the Atlas internet forums, they would have already addressed the situation. For others, a car costing $50,000 or more is not prohibitively costly. Still, it is too expensive for us to be in the service department already. Primarily a service department that is not willing to help you. Oh, and did I mention that the vehicle only has 8,583 miles.
Although it is a beautiful vehicle overall, my wife loves it. If it is not dependable, who cares about how it looks or physically fulfills our family's requirements? It was physically necessary for me to visit Rudolph Volkswagen El Paso, where I had bought the automobile. Miss Brianna informed me that it would be five months before they could provide me with a loaner to examine my situation! Being a service writer must be a miserable job since these people are the most unsympathetic you could ever meet. Did I mention that I purchased the car from them? El Paso, Texas, is great to live in. The weather is always pleasant, the cost of living is affordable, but if you're looking for good old customer service, forget about it!
