Is that listed in the owner's manual OR a generic VW maintenance list covering all vehicles? Can always just hit the dealer and talk to them/ask about it. I'm not familar with this.

I'm not familar with this.My apologies in advance if this is a dumb question, but what is a "torque splitter"? The VW manual says I should check the oil for deterioration every 20k miles and I have no idea what I'm supposed to be checking. Google and other searches haven't really turned up much help.
(My guess is that it's part of the transmission and shares fluid with the rest of the transmission???)
(2018 Atlas SE V6 FWD if it matters)
Your owner's manual trumps all. I saw the same thing - it's generic it looks like. Torque splitter would be the bevel box on the awd models that splits power to the prop shaft/r. wheels. It has it's own fluid - both my Atlas and Sportwagen have one. On the fwd you have auto trans fluid at 80K. Plugs at 60K. Oil etc. etc. at whenever you like up to 10K. If you have a pano sunroof, you should clean the drains annually. It was found on VW’s maintenance schedule website.
You have to enter the specifics for your vehicle so I assumed that it would filter out service for components I don’t have (e.g. awd). But every Google result for that term (“torque splitter”) relates to AWD, so perhaps not???
