Hi,

I have a 2018 VW ATLAS with the V6 engine, it has 148,000 Kms. I changed the battery recently and the spark plugs.

It has the engine on/off feature which gets used many times throughout the day / evening while I drive. I’m just wondering if it would be smart to change the alternator belt at this point, so that I won’t have any more unexpected higher maintenance or repair costs ?

Thanks,

Samuel B.

No - don't change it if doesn't need it. The vehicle has been designed to handle the extra start/stop load. As much as I lurk around the Atlas forums/FB groups, I've not heard of anyone having an issue w/r to this.
