Hi! I am noticing specks of rust and corrosion on my atlas. I bought it brand new about 5 months ago. Has anyone else experienced this? This is my 4th VW and I’ve never had an issue with rust and corrosion before....

You should start with inspecting the rest of your Atlas for areas that might get rust, that of course being exposed metal. Are you able to take pictures of the problem areas?

Pretty darn certain rust and corrosion warranty is at least 4 years 48k. Check the Warranty guide.

Take you car to the dealer immediately and start documenting every visit and service in regards to it. If it gets worse at the end of the warranty period you will need docs.

That's absurd, and I would definitely take it in before the trouble spots begin to spread. If it works its way under the paint, its going to be pretty involved to have it all removed.

I found rust on my tailgate.. they replaced the tailgate and are on round 4 of painting it. Not sure what’s going on..lots of little spots that are not covering correctly.

Is it possible to post pictures of the rust/corrosion? Surface rust that gets stuck in the clear coat is common and can be easily seen on white/light colored vehicles. A lot of time this is just carbon material from brake dust or atmospheric corrosion.

If that's the case which I hope it is here then it might just be a case of running clay bar over the paint to remove those imperfections on the surface.
