Hey,
I noticed the infotainment centre has some sound problem when I use either the bluethooth handfree phone or when play mp3 via the media / USB. Every now and then, I can hear a bursty loud scratchy noise. It is quite unpleasant. I know the mp3 files are not in cause as I have been listening to them for so long, on so many different player.

Still, The sound is always perfect when using the radio or using carplay (for phone and music).

Anyone experimented this?

Perhaps it could the USB/Aux cable you're using as well? Sometimes a bad cable can distort the sound and make some quite horrifying noises. As noted above it might be a good option to try rebooting the system.

I am also having issues with radio/infotainment and Carplay, and most recently Bluetooth. I'm been complaining to the dealer for a while now about the radio/sound just locking up when using Carplay, and they just keep pushing me off and stating that they can't find anything. They conceded at first that if I could bring a video showing the issues, they could then fix it. However, when I showed them the video, they still said they couldn't find anything wrong. The only way to fix the lockup is to reset the radio by pushing and holding the power button. When the lockup happens, you cannot change anything on the radio, including volume. Now, I've had it happen when just playing music via Bluetooth. I've tried original Apple cables, 3rd party cables, iPhone X & XS Max (even a reset X), all things the dealer blames it on. I also use the original Apple Music app in Carplay mode. The lockup is completely random and the dealer keeps stating for me to bring it in when it locks up (ridiculous request since you never know when it will happen and whether the dealer is even open). The video showed the original Apple cable and what was happening and the dealer just brushed it off. Now that I've also told them about Bluetooth, the dealer keeps referencing the original Apple cable and Carplay, both of which have nothing to do with using the Bluetooth feature. This is a clear indication the dealer doesn't care about the issue or even knows how the system works.

Anyone else having any type of similar issues?

Yes, I have a new 2021.5 SEL Premium and the radio/music/phone often has no sound. People at the other end of the phone can hear me, I cannot hear them. Situs/XM shows song that’s playing but, again, no sound. Visually everything looks to be operating but there is no audio.

I’ve had these exact same issues. Took it in to the dealer and they determined they needed to replace the whole radio unit. Not sure how they reached that decision but wasn’t going to question it. It took over a month for the new unit to arrive as it was back ordered. Had it installed Monday and <knock on wood> no issues so far. Waze can suck but at least sound is working.

Please contact VW corporate. Complain, complain, complain. I have been in and out of service since I purchased my 2021 Cross Sport Premium in July. I have written corporate three times. Now I have a representative of the southeast region That has been handling my case. I finally was able to go into my dealership and have a brand new modular installed. So far everything has been pretty good. I’ve been able to play everything wirelessly and it’s clear and it connects up right away.
My guess is, after been speaking with many service techs and reading the forums, that VW does know about this problem. But they don’t want to do a recall because that would be very expensive. And they’re only really helping the people that complain a lot. So this is what we need to do.
it’s difficult to take a video of what is happening, because with your video option on your telephone and the Bluetooth, it tends to shut off any sound soon as you start recording. You have to use a different phone while yours is connected to the vehicle to document what is going on with your volume and connection issues.
Best of luck, I seem to be right now is the squeaky wheel. And document everything. Best of luck.

2022 Atlas SEL Premium, Mine just started today. First appointment on Tuesday. After my call was off for 15mins. Everything was back to normal. Weird glitch! Guess they still haven't fixed the issue!
