Thinking of getting an SEL for my wife. I looked at the local dealer, they have 16 in stock, everyone has a trailer tow package & hitch installed, is this a common item on these?

It comes standard on SEL so yes it is common.

Yes the majority of the dealers order it with the hitch as when ordering it comes with a5k tow rating and if one decides to put an after market even a VW part the max rating is for 2k. The end result is a win situation and the dealer does not have to explain why it is limited for 2k with the after delivery instal.
