hello,
new Atlas LE 4Motion owner. Bought this about 1 month ago, and I'm pretty happy with the car. I call this a car, cause that's how it feels on the drive. I was surprise on how minimal the body roll is vs my old 2003 Honda Pilot. My old daily was a 2012 VW Golf 2.5, so moving up to a VR6 was a plus.

A few weeks ago, took the family to a trip from Cleveland to DC, and it's a great car for the long drive. Packing in 3 adults and two kids gave us plenty of room for the rest of the family's luggage (including baby stroller). My parents drove their Pilot. But once to DC, we'd all packed into the Atlas (5 adults and two kids) for shuffling around town.

The engine seems to be breaking in nicely. With 2200+ miles on the OD, and I'm seeing roughly 25mph (extended) on the clock. I mostly drive a mix of 30% city and 70% highway to/from work.

My dad has a 2017 Honda Pilot Touring, and it's a nice car. However, I can't stand the styling of the new Honda. Also, their infotainment system doesn't feel right to me.

The thing that had sold me on the Atlas was the tilt and sliding 2nd row seating. This made getting in the 3rd row so much easier. And the VW styling goes well with my taste/style.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the Atlas! Honda cars are great but they just don't have as much interior cabin space as the Atlas and there's just so much cargo space when the third row is folded down.

Any plans for a roof rack or other accessories to make it even more long trip friendly?

Thank you. Before buying the new car, I was doing a little review, and was surprise how much cargo can be swallow into the back of the Atlas. That was a big plus.

I've been doing some research on maybe a roof rack cargo carrier. Any recommendations?

I'm also looking into installing a hitch, but this is lower on the list, since I sort of want the factory look. I don't want a hitch that hangs below the bumper, making it an eyesore to the car's styling. I've only seen one hitch that requires minor cutting of the lower bumper's lavance.
Welcome....I’m new too..awesome truck so far.

Curious if you ever did get a cargo carrier? If you did, did you get roof rack or hitch? We are considering getting a cargo carrier and aren't sure which one would be best...
I use a Thule Pulse L that I had with my last vehicle and it’s great. I have a factory installed hitch that I use to carry bikes at the same time, otherwise I’d probably get a hitch based carrier.
