Dead ECM after battery replacement

No - unless it was done wrong to somehow cook the ECU. What happened?

Changed my battery this morning and it wouldn't start, got lots of warning, which others online had said as well. However, I also had a starter system fault along with brake booster warning as well. Called VW and they said someone tried to change their battery themselves and ended up hitting the ECM and fried it. I am about to get it towed to VW, I hope that isn't the issue. The service rep said it was about 3000 dollars to replace. Any updates on yours at all?

our problem was the ASM (access Start Module) was fried
Again, the rumors I'm hearing from my VW folks is that if a module is "updating" when the battery is disconnected it will wipe it out

Long story ... first dealer had it for 3 weeks and tore the car apart before we had it towed to a different dealer
They charged $2500 to diagnose the concern and reassemble the vehicle from the previous shop

Wow what a pain. It weird that every time I go to start the car, Fuse #9 under the hood keeps blowing (see below). I hope its an easy fix, I even put the original battery back into it an still does it. Thanks for letting me know, will update when I hear what the dealership says.
