2019 atlas v6. It is starting to take longer to start. No codes. Took it to the shop and said that an injector is leaking down. Anyone know what all is involved to change them? I’ve looked online and can’t seem to find anything. They want about $3000. I am a back yard mechanic but would like some insight as to what I’m getting into. They say to expect 8 hrs labor

all injectors are held in place with a clip. while I haven't had to replace one on an Atlas, I have had one go bad on a 2018 V6 SEL. it took the tech about an hour to replace one under warranty. you will have to pull the intake to do so, and I'd pull the spark plugs as well. make sure there is nothing to fall down into the cylinders while you are working on it...

I looked around a couple of places to find a good Vw shop after two trips to the dealership.
Difference is :
Dealership = $165/ hr + $180 for the scan.
VW Shop = $126/hr + $ 60 for the scan

(Ex) Last time I went for my EPG valve.
Dealership eval.. $635 (part n labor)
Shop eval and cost $106 cause the EPG was installed backwards.

Nothing against the dealership they do a good job, but...

It has a 19 gallon gas tank. Put in 2 12 ounce bottles of CHEVRON TECTRON INJECTOR CLEANERIN A FULL TANK OF GAS AND RUN THE TANK DOWN TO AN 8TH AND THEN DO IT AGAIN IF THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. And do it every 4000 miles along with an OIL AND FILTER SERVICE. This is what I do it youself every 4k miles. That 10,000 oil change interval is bullcrap. The shop or dealer just wants to make bank on you.
