Atlas SEL Premium production halt

Wife and I ordered an SEL premium on Oct.31, 2017. We are still waiting. For months the sales guy at dealership says they have no info. Finally 2 weeks ago, the sales manager at IL dealership spoke to a VW rep and relayed the following:
- VW rep says they are having production problems.
- specifically the digital dash displays made by Panasonic are not working properly.
- VW is attempting to switch suppliers.
- they have no idea how long it will take before SEL premiums begin rolling off the line again.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

My wife and I just bought ours today. The salesman did say that the Premiums have had some issues with the virtual cockpit. He said they've sold dozens and haven't seen any with the issue, but that it was out there. But they did have a few on the lot.
I ordered my VW Atlas at the end of October as well. In Canada VW calls the top of the line VW Atlas the ExecLine Version. When I ordererd it I was told there would be a 3 month wait time. I was OK with that and also got a good deal from the dealership.

I checked in with the dealership a few weeks ago (around the 3 month mark) and was told the vehicle was delayed and would not be built until end of this month (March) and delivered near end of April. I just checked again and was told that now it is delayed until endo of April/May with a delivery in June!

I know it is not the dealers fault but someone in VW is NOT communicating well (again)....You would think after their diesel emissions messup they would see the importance of communicating openly with people..:frown2:
VW Atlas SEL Premium

I took delivery of mine 12/24/2017. Haven't noticed any issues with the digital dash. Anyone know of any specific issues?

Seems odd to me your dealer wouldn't get one of the Execs sitting at other dealerships. Our local dealership just took possession of an Execline 2 weeks ago, and it's sitting on lot. I know they can trade for other vehicles from dealer to dealer

I doubt the options/colour etc. of what I ordered would have been sitting on a lot. I was told by my dealer that wait times are now 6 months for Atlas (not sure if he meant all of them or just certain builds..). I would prefer to wait and have any potential issues resolved than deal with hassle of trying to get something fixed later....

I did a bit of googling yesterday and there was a fair amount of chatter about the Atlas digital dash going wonky. Showing diesel idiot lights (wish diesal was option...), resetting clock every start, clocking odometer milage when car was parked, etc.. Software upgrades and even complete replacements did not seem to fix problem....
