New Atlas Owner here.

The google play music app either fail to open or take a long time to open ( like 5-10 mins). It is set to stream over data. Is anyone else experiencing similar issue? Apple native apps work fine as far as i have tested. I must say I do have 4k+ songs in the google library!

Also, sometimes there is no sound transmitted although the song is playing. Switching to radio and back to carplay seems to be a workaround but it is frustrating.

Are you all experiencing glitches for you carplay as well?

I have Android Auto and had similar glitches. Switching to radio and back didn't fix anything. What worked for me was reset/reboot the system by long pressing the power button on the left side of the screen.

I am having similar issues both connecting with CarPlay taking a long time or not being recognized at all and a few times I've hit the app button and only gotten a black screen which would not go away unless I reset by turning off the car and opening the door then restarting the car.

I've experienced some issues at about 3,000 miles. Sometimes the carplay will disconnect while I'm using map programs and I have replug the phone. Other times when I start the car with a phone attached to the front USB, the screen will go blank, and nothing works. The last time I noticed that the compass on the dash wasn't working either. A restart of the car, with everything off worked.
Any ideas or similar stories? Anyone talked to a dealer as yet?

I've had these irritating issues since I bought mine at the end of 2017. Got over 30,000 miles now. Many times when I first start the car and connect my iPhone XR (same went with my iPhone 7) the sound is off. Trying to adjust volume will show no blue bar on the dash. Switching to radio and back fixes it. When I first fire up, if I switch to Waze, it lets out a hugely loud split second of music, and then to either normal volume or the zero volume problem.

Also, when I have been driving for a while (mayne 30 minutes or so), the carplay will freeze up. Sometimes it'll take a minute and catch up, other times I have to unplug and reinsert the cable and we're back in action. My wife has a 2019 Jetta and has no trouble!

My 21 Atlas S has the same bizarre issues. Happens with in 4 minutes of use to say 1.5 hours. I use Waze, Apple Music or even listening to the radio- it freezes up. Dealer confirmed it once. Had it two the dealer twice. It's a problem. Phone or car, who knows?

I have a 2021.5 Atlas SEL and the Car Play does not work well. I use Spotify - sometimes the car is confused and I must restart the sequence and sometimes it takes a long time to turn on. The touch screen response time is deplorable (actually unacceptable) and likely comes from a slow processor or diminished Bit rating to save costs and/or supply. You get no response, so you press again and get two steps.
