I just purchased a 2022 Atlas and I'm trying to locate a two hook for the front of the vehicle. I read that it's no longer included with new vehicles so I was wonder if anyone has experience with this part (4H0805615A)?

I took the front attachment cover off and I can see the socket but it doesn't feel like it's threaded so I'm curious how it attaches.

Should be a threaded hole. Did you check in the spare tire/tool kit? Should be the same hook for all current VWs.
I have triple checked the spare tire area and tool kit and can not find the hook.

I also inspected front bumper attachment point more closely and there is a hole behind the cover but it is definitely not threaded. The metal appears to be about 1/8" thick so I'm not sure how the hook would attach to it.

Most tows are flat beds with straps on tires and when towed by hooks they grab the front tires and dolly the back

I was pursuing the same issue. Got dealer to mail to me an official Atlas tow eye. Took it to the vehicle and no threads there so it won’t work. Some sort of threaded receiver/insert is needed to bring the screw-in point forward (if the awaiting hole is strong enough). Professional towing is not always available so it would be nice to have the what-ifs covered. (pulled a vehicle off a snowbank last winter and glad we were able to rig it right (rigged it wrong to my pickup truck and bent something. will rig it better next time)

My 2022 Atlas Cross Sport is the same, Lawyers afraid tow hook would turn into a projectile. There are plastic plugs behind front wheel wells that will accept a small "J" hook, does not seem sturdy enough for a seriously stuck truck but that's my best advice. Will have to go from 20" wheels to dedicated 18" off road/ snow wheels and tires best not to get stuck in the first place.

Plastic Plugs are removable to Access tow connections, plan is to use a tow strap with 2 hooks to make a bridle to connect to second tow strap. The extra distance will give a a good angle to protect front from damage.
