Vibration buzz from driver side door panel?

Hi all! Pretty much after I drove my 2018 Atlas SEL off the lot, I noticed a vibrating buzz from the upper left of the driver side door panel (see pic for area of the noise). It has gotten worse over time (now with 12K on the car). Every time you hit the smallest bump in the road it buzzes (the best way I can describe it). It is really bad when you are on road/highways where the road has that little bump every X number of yards and you constantly hear it in your left ear -- it really makes a great ride unenjoyable. It also does it if you turn up the stereo with lots of bass. I know it is the door/panel as when I put my arm on the armrest and push down hard, it will stop but only when doing so.

Had it to the dealer twice for other issues and told them to look for this noise. They said they hear nothing. So, what are my options? Is there a way for me to take off the interior door panel easily and see what is going on? Perhaps I can fix it with some tape or glue -- ha!

I have to say, overall, the Atlas has way more pops/creaks/rattles/buzzes, etc caused by interior plastics than any $40K+ car should have. There are many in this car, but the one I mention above bothers me most as it is right in your ear! I have a 2010 Mazda3 hatch and it has way less interior plastics noise than the new Atlas. I was thinking about replacing with a GTI at some point, but if all VWs are like this, I think I will pass.

Thanks in advance all. This is a great site!

Not sure what would be involved in opening up the door panel, but more soundproofing/insulation would go a long way in addressing this kind of problem. There are some good DIY videos up on youtube for fixing rattling on other VW models.

I own a 2018 Atlas SEL 4Motion Premium and have 3000 miles on it. Bought the vehicle in April 2019 new, and since I have another vehicle, I don't drive the Atlas much. I like the Atlas but this humming/vibration noise stretching my nerves and patience. I have noticed this humming and buzzing vibration noise coming out of the driver side door also pretty much the first week I had the vehicle, and like you said PacMan, it is very annoying and irritating, sounds like a bee or a metal-to-metal buzzing sound. Nevertheless, I took it to the dealer 3x already and the service manager drove it the 3rd time and he also heard the noise. They adjusted the door apparently, but that worked only for the time being I was drove home. The next morning went for a drive on the highway and the noise was back. After weeks of trying different things, I stuck a folded sheet of paper-towel between the door frame and the rubber seal of the door by the upper corner and that made the noise stop. Also noise coming out of the door panel (music is not on), an adding irritant to the humming noise. The humming/buzzing/vibration noise can only be heard from the driver seat and it is right in your ear! It is a safety issue as far as I am concerned as the noise can take the driver's attention off the road as being so irritating. I call it the "luxury" torture noise, cost: $50K! I have maintained email communication with the dealership and if they don't fix the noise, I'll file a claim.
