Homelink Issues

I have a 2018 VW Atlas SEL Premium, and it’s great, except for the fact that the Homelink system stops working with my garage door opener after 3-4 days every time I set it (I have a Liftmaster 8550 garage door opener). I’ve tried as many different ways of setting it as I can find - anyone else having this problem, too?

Out of curiosity, do you have LED lights in the garage door opener? The LiftMaster manual specifically tells you to use incandescent or CFL, no LEDs. I bought LEDs, and am tempted to switch to CFLs, as it could be a frequency generated by LEDs causing interference.

Forgetful Homelink

Same issue with my 2019 SEL. Iíve had it for less than a month and for the second time the Homelink button stopped working. Itís a huge PITA to program in the first place so I just stuck the my old garage remote to the visor.
And no, Iím not using LED bulbs in the opener (itís a Chamberlain, about 7 years old).
Most frustrating part is my old Ď09 Honda Ridgeline had Homelink and it never failed to work. The only time I had to reprogram it was when I replaced the opener.

I have LED bulbs (single) in each of the garage door openers and the homeland has been working perfect since day 1. In my prior car when I programed the 2 doors doors some how when I pressed on 1 it opened both doors and also the same for button 2 or 3. I had tried so many combinations that I ended only programing one door. On other cars not working properly I solved the issue by reseting the opener, and the cars. Reprogramed the opener with one remote and then programed that to the cars and I repeated the same for the other cars. 2 out 3 cars operated both doors.

I was actually told by the service rep that having too many remotes programed will cause issue (Liftmaster by Chambelin) and that it is best to use minimal amount of remotes. Right now both door has one single remote and the 3 cars programed to open the 2 doors.

Give that a try.

Thanks for the tip. I started counting and currently have 6 potential remotes including my Atlas: both original remotes, the Homelink on my wife's Infiniti, a door status indicator with closer button in the kitchen, and probably the Homelink on my previous vehicle (silly me, I forgot to clear it before trading it in). Wondering if one of the other remotes causes the Atlas to get kicked out of the main unit's memory.

Also, something I neglected to do is perform the last step in programming by syncing with the main unit. Guess I should have read the manual a little farther. I did see something about it on Chamberlain's website, and my wife found this handy YouTube video:
.

Anyway, will try reprogramming/syncing per the manual and see if that sticks. Otherwise I may have to reset the main unit and reprogram everything per hfqkhal's suggestion.

In all honesty I did not even read the manual at all for the programing instructions. I did the steps but I also held the door remote next to the mirror and that took. I didn't even bring close to the steering wheel.. One thing some times you might have to press it more than once as for the past 10 years or so the remotes have rolling codes so if one long press does not do it then try a couple more presses.
